OnePlus has a new phone coming. The company has already taken to teasing its next device on Twitter and Instagram, with CEO Pete Lau posting on Tuesday that the phone will arrive first in Europe and India. Now, we have some more details on the front cameras, with a new report indicating the forthcoming phone will have two selfie cameras.  According to Android Central, quoting an "insider source," the next OnePlus phone will have dual 32- and 8-megapixel cameras on the front, a first for a OnePlus device. The Status Keycard now works with Android smartphones to make mobile apps more secure. Status, the Ethereum-based messaging company, has expanded the use case for its Keycard, a hardware wallet first announced in February 2019. It now works with Android mobile devices using much the same security technology as that found in modern credit cards. It also enables a user to both authorize the spending of crypto either online or using a point-of-sale device and, with this new functionality, it acts as a form of two-factor authentication (2FA) for logging into applications like the Status messaging app and Ethereum wallet. "If you are a regular Status user without a Keycard, your private keys are in your mobile phone," Guy-Louis Grau, the product manager for Keycard, told CoinDesk. Vivo is really interested in increasing its offers in the mid-range smartphone as another device from the company bearing Snapdragon 675 was spotted at the GeekBench database. The device in question bears Vivo 2004 codename and has been certified recently in Singapore and Russia. Now, it's paying a visit to the GeekBench database with Snapdragon 675 SoC, 8GB of RAM, and Android 10 in tow. Interestingly enough, this combo of specifications is pretty familiar among Vivo smartphones. There are no less than nine different variants with the same features. The new handset scored 552 points in the single-core tests and 1,703 points on the Multi-Core tests on the GeekBench 5.x platform. The results are pretty much on par with other Snapdragon 675 smartphones. Microsoft is seemingly in a race to get the Surface Duo out the door before Samsung announces its equally intriguing Galaxy Fold 2. Now we're seeing even more evidence that the launch is imminent. Surface Duo assets have already shown up in Microsoft's Your Phone app according to Zac Bowden. The fact that Microsoft would put this unreleased phone in its production app shows that the wait won't be much longer. Windows Latest is separately reporting that the Surface Duo, which will launch with Android 10 installed, will get a relatively fast update to Android 11 when that operating system is released later this year. OnePlus's upcoming OnePlus Z price might be a lot cheaper than anything we could have envisioned, which could put further strain on competitors — especially Google's unreleased Pixel 5 flagship. The OnePlus Z and Pixel 5 are rumored to feature the same Snapdragon 765 processor, so they'll feature roughly the same overall performance. The new OnePlus phone might be a whopping $300 cheaper than the Pixel 5 if the latest rumor is true, a price that would make the phone a crushing blow to Google's own smartphone efforts.
